Energy-Conscious Households in ACTION
Because families have to change their lifestyle it is very difficult for local authorities to promote and develop sustainable possibilities. Therefore the target of ECHO ACTION is to create regional networks between families, economy and financial institutions to implement energy plans.
Participating families are guided to a more sustainable energy consumption. Producer, retailer, handcrafter and financing institutes consult the families about proceeding, products, financing and subventions. All networks are coordinated by the local energy agencies.
The first step is a critical regard on lifestyle and consumption. After that the focus is on low cost solutions and in the last step those families who intend to realise more complex and expensive solutions will be helped.
In Berlin/Germany ECHO Action had been initiated by a competition based on building refurbishment. 350 households of single-family houses as well as semidetached houses participated in the contest.
